Well the cruise is coming to an end and it is much like it started, the seas are terrible and so Peter has spent the day in bed. We have had 25foot waves for most of the day....well it was quiet to say the least, so I went and had a one hour massage at the spa....heavenly!
As much as we have enjoyed the cruise we have decided that we want to sleep in our own bed , so we'll be heading home Saturday, instead of Sunday. I'm wondering if Jessie and Allie would like to see Aunt Megan and Uncle Peter? I'll call you when we are in NYC.
Take care and good night!

"The waves will be rough, but not dangerous..."
Yup that's the way the Capitan explained the weather this morning. We have Gale force winds and 5-7 metre waves, just another day in paradise, okay maybe not quite. We went in the hottub before dinner (I have a kink in my neck) and the tide was quite disconcerning. we are again just of the coast of North Carolina and again there is a system which is making this a fun ride. This time Peter doesn't seem to be bothered. The weather is definately turning cooler. Tonight was the last formal night and unfortunately it was the only one we made it to. It has been quiet the last few days as they both have been sea days. We have met people from Germany, England the US and of course Ottawa (the Principal of Hillel Acadamy and her mother). We have had a good time, but are glad to be going home.
G'night to all and take care!

St. John's, Antigua
Well this was one of our favorite islands. It was a beautifu island with rolling hills and nice people. Today we went on a 4x4 tour of the island and to Turner's Beach. Let's just say that the marketing of the tour leaves something to be desired...it was supposed to be an off-road adventure, but it wasn't off road at all as the Nissan Sentra folowing us had no problems with the potholes....oh well it was still a nice tour in the open back of a Landrover. That being said I got a bit of sun on my neck and face so I am a little uncomfortable, but no sunburns! Aparently I am alot of fun to take to the Caribbean! Oh well, it was our last port of call an so we will spend the last three days at sea. Interesting fact about the trip: There are 3400 passengers and 1800 of them are from the UK!
Good night...we're off to the hot tub!
Take Care,
Megan and Peter

Bridgetown, Barbados
Today we did a tour of Barbados, which included a tour of a rum distillery and lunch at an old plantation and a tour of a Mahogany craftsman shop. Lunch was delious and so was the rum tasting. We bought 2 bottles of rum and unfortunately had no time to look around after as the bus driver got us back to the pier just as we had to be back on the boat. I have been dying of the heat, trying to keep covered to avoid the sun. So far this seems to be working, I am much more comfortable today.
Tomorrrow we are at the last port of call...Antigua , then three days sailing home.
Happy Easter to everyone! Take Care!

St. Maarten and Rosseau, Dominica
Sorry for not positing yesterday, but my rash is horrible and it appears to be incredibly photo-sensitive. Yesterday we were in St. Maarten, we went sailing aboard the True North II, this is one of the America's Cup Regatta's boat. It was fantastic! I was the Main sail trimmer and Peter was one of the Main grinders! BTW- True North II crew beat the Stars and Stripes it was great. Afterwards though, my rash was really painful, so we returned to our cabin and napped.
Today we are in Rosseau, Dominica and I have to say it is paradise. It is an untouched island. Most of it is a rainforest and it is spectacular, we really loved it. We took a bus tour and I am in longsleeves, trying to avoid the sun. Trish has kindly advised me that my medication can cause sunsensitivity, great!
Most of the islands are closed this weekend for Easter, so it is very quiet. I have to admit I haven't bought much as I really don't like the stores around the ports as they are tourist traps. Oh well we do have some nice photos which we'll have to share later.
I have modified the comments section as Trish indicated she couldn't post. I hope it works now.
Later!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas!
Feeling hot, hot, hot! Okay it was nice here, beautiful breeze and not too humid. Today we went on a catamaran and snorkel excurision, it was nice, but unfortunately while Operation No Sunburn is going well, it looks like I have developed an allergy to the sun and I am covered in a pinpoint rash everywhere that was exposed to the sun and it itches like crazy, good thing I packed benadryl. St. Thomas was a beautiful little island and we are sailing tonight to St. Maarten. Tomorrow we are sailing aboard an America's cup vessel. Take Care!

San Juan, Puerto Rico....
Well today was our first port of call...the US Territory of Puerto Rico. It is a European inspired city with narrow cobblestone streets and even narrower sidewalks. We walked up the hill to the old Castillio and then down through the streets of the old town. We can happily say it is the home of a Walgreens, 2 Starbucks and Coach handbags. Although the ship is here til 11pm, we decided to head back and eat abord the ship. We're heading off for the hot tub! Take care and good night!

Here we go sailing the high seas....
Hi guys, I decided that it would be alot easier(and cheaper) rather than to send everyone emails I would use this blog instead...please bear in mind I am sitting in the internet at 37 cents a minitue so I may not alwways go into great deal and I haven't figured out if I can upload photos, but here it goes!
NYC was an experience, we got in around 4pm and by the time we checked in, got setteled and set out to explore NYC it was about 5pm. Being adventerous< we took the advice of the girl at the front dest, we took the shuttle to the airport and hopped on the train to NY Penn Station. We met a lovely conductor who we though would certaining get complaints if he drove for OC Transpo, but he was great, one look and people cleqared out of the seats and he told every one to use another door when he put a ramp down for me to get off the train and I believe he would have physicaly removed them if he had to....he was great!...Penn Station was an experience, let's just say we didn't touch anything! We walked past the Empire State building, saw the flat iron building and eventually took a cab to Lombardi's pizza. Peter was satisfied, it was delish. Being however unexperienced Canadians we decided just to grab a cab back to the hotel. Just getting in the cab cost us a $17.50 surcharge to go to Ne Jersey! Well we got to take the Holland Tunnnel too, as we are entering it Peter turns to me and says "wasn't that scene from Men in Black filmed here?" Now were are going to have to watch the movie again ;o). $65 later and we arrived safe and sound back at the hotel. Yesterday we just hung out and waited til noon, so we could board the boat.
The Ship is HUGE!!!!!! Organized chaos comes to mind. The room is huge as cabins go and is quite comfortable. No problems there, the Room Steward even brought me a fridge so I could keep my Humira cold. Service has been excellent and the food is good.
We are on our fist official day and at sea and unfortunately I have had a very quiet day, by myself... you Peter is in the state room green and sick as a dog. You will all remember the last cruise and whar happpens to Peter on the boat! Yup seasick! Oh well, I have tried to tell him that it gets better if he leaves the room, but he is so stubborn and won't leave the bed (or the bathroom!) So Ttoday the seas are rough it seems there is a low pressure system reaching from Florida all the way north...TJ Petter wanted me to tell you, the boat should have headed south, not the north atlantic. That being said, the Capt said it should become smoother tomorrow...FYI we were about 250 nautical miles from Cape Hadderas, North Carolina (haven't got a spell check function here, please forgive me!)at around lunch time. Tonight is the first formal niight and I certainly hope I won't be dining alone.
Take care!
Megan
